We were inspired to develop this kit after viewing a photograph we took of the tug “Cadet” resting in a Maine port on a cold winter day. The photo offered us a very limited view of the vessel but what a beauty.
The actual “Cadet” has a length of 40’, smoke stack coming up through the pilot house, and a beautiful wood door and entry off the rear of the engine room. Our kit is 53’ long, free standing smoke stack, and a vent where their door is. Our good friend George Barrett from Sheepscot Models provided us with the information on the actual Cadet. CADET, built 1936, Kennebunkport, Maine, by documentation Specs; 12/8 – 38.2 x 11.2 x 4.6. 40’ LOA. It is truly a classic vessel and easily inspired us to come up with this kit that has some similarities.
Suggested skill level for assembling and finishing this model is 3 on a scale of 1 thru 10, with 10 being the most difficult.
This kit is not intended for children under the age of 14 without adult supervision,
The kit includes all necessary parts for full assembly as shown in the kit box  photos unless noted otherwise.
People figures do not come with this kit.
