During the 1950’s many of the Great Lakes Towing Company’s steam tugs were converted to diesel. This resulted in modifications to the houses and stack. These changes are reflected in our modernized version of the L.C. Sabin. Many of the tugs converted in the 1950’s are still in service on the Great Lakes.
